- Bob Khan
Fire Chief, City of Phoenix Fire Department

- Fire Chief Bob knows that, healthy or not, the flu and its complications can stop him and his crew of 2000 firefighters in their tracks. Bob's crew works in dangerous conditions, often inhaling smoke and fumes that can lead to respiratory problems. They are also in close contact with members of the community on a daily basis — increasing their risk of contracting the flu, which can be deadly. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends annual vaccination for anyone living with a chronic medical condition, including asthma, and their close contacts.1 Bob considers annual immunization a life-saving measure, and is sharing the message with his crew and local residents.
